COLLEGE ADVISEMENT PROGRAM
ERIC MUIR - COLLEGE ADVISOR

The College Advisement Program is a consultant based service for the high school student-athlete that is interested in playing at the collegiate level. Receiving an offer to play at the collegiate level is a very detailed and timely process. Not only are very good baseball skills necessary, but excellent grades, character and motivation are expected in today’s baseball world.

Along with these requirements comes the necessity to find a “good fit” for your degree preference and your baseball skill level. While finding a baseball program that you like is very important, it is also necessary to be open to other schools/universities that are a close fit but may be in a different geographical area.

The process will involve our working together to choose the preferred schools and then look at other schools that are in need of skilled players some that are in other conferences and locals different than your first choices. We will look at some 20-25 schools that fit your playing abilities as well as your academic achievements.

It must be understood that many or most schools ask for your transcripts first. In today’s collegiate baseball, coaches are looking for players that can withstand the rigors of college, work hard in class to remain eligible, and have the character to compete and lead. This total package is what we will be working on together in finding you a college scholarship.

Many stories are out there about full scholarships paying 100% of the tuition, room and board and books. This is a real issue to resolve immediately. Most DI, DII scholarships fall in the 25-40% range of total school expenses. There are some very solid players that will get 40-75% and then a select 1 or 2 may get a full scholarship based upon their national ranking and how the MLB draft sees them. If you stay realistic, and play hard with a good GPA, you can expect 25-40%. It will be dependent on the school you choose and your due diligence to be the best student and player you can be.

As I said earlier, this is a long process and if began early in high school can be very rewarding. Of course there are no guarantees, and many people feel they don’t need help. The truth is, only 5% of all high school players ever play at the collegiate level. Many parents also feel they can do it themselves and/or they think there son or daughter will be noticed on their own abilities. If you believe this, you have my best, but when you need my assistance, I will be available. I am confident that with our hard work we will find the right fit for you. There is a place for everyone to play if the work is done to promote your abilities.

There is an old saying that I believe always holds true
”If it is to be, it is up to me”.

The program cost is $500 per year based on when you begin. If you start in the freshman-senior program, the recruit-me manuals will be paid for a savings of $200. The earlier you begin the program, the more time we have to look at grades, colleges, majors,Geographic’s etc.

I hope you will take the first step in pursuing your dream and contact me for a more informative meeting. I will outline the entire program and answer any questions you may have.

Good Luck in Baseball,

Eric Muir
